It charges your credit card (or I suppose your bank account). You must handle all transfers from Venmo to your bank account. That float helps them make money, I just don’t particularly want to hassle with it. For me, it is just a necessary evil I’ve had to use a few times.

JAL3, welcome back! Wow, a 1000 kits is incredible. I have around 200, and feel like I need to thin the inventory. There are so many I know will never get built. I donated about 20 at NSL for the raffle, but a number of those were kits that a friend “dumped” on me since he knew he would never build them. My inventory numbers still seems to creep up.

We are the point in our lives that a smaller home, with less yard to maintain, is looking very desirable. Besides all my kits, I have a pretty extensive wood shop and inventory of hardwoods. Sometime I think we ought to just liquidate everything, buy a monster RV, and hit the road for a year or so.

I was aware of the Venmo PayPal connection and the delays. It's just that the bad experience with Paypal dating back to the mid 2000s still hacks me off. They kept going into my back account for unauthorized funds. When I called them on it, they apologized and refunded the money but then it happened again... and again... I finally closed the account and opened another one but somehow they got access and it continued. To stop the problem, I had to go to a different bank. My family had been dealing with that bank since it first opened and the current president was a high school classmate of mine. His wife's father worked for my dad. It hacked me off.

I'm doing a lot of downsizing too. I'll be unloading a table saw, band saw, drill press and a lot of my tools.

I know I don't have the Visible Astro. The other two are possibilities though.

Did you take in a 6 man football game or two while there? My old hometown alma mater went back to it in 2003 after over 20 years in 11 man.

I actually liked Rankin but it was sad that the only places not closed down were the Stripe, the bank, the post office, the school, the courthouse and a plumbing supply place that was oil field plumbing supply. Everything else was boarded up.

I did see a few 6 man football games. It felt strange as a Methodist pastor to be rooting for the Devils.

I think I remember an Astron Trident but I'm pretty sure it's a later version.

Well, as long as we're doing wish lists: I'm interested in any pre-Beta-Series Alphas, the further back the better, especially those pre-dating the yellow skill-level face card—and one of the elusive Alphas from 1989-1992 that has a blue Alpha III type nose cone in the kit.
