Someone on Facebox just posted a haul from a hobby store in Massachusetts. He had two Mini Maxes, and said that the store had six or seven more.

I just dug the one I have out. It’s the balsa nose cone version—production date 51 09.

I still have 4 Mini Max kits. One is definitely earmarked for my 4 year-old grand daughter. She saw an Alpha III in my basement shop, and asked me if she could take it home. It has an “Easter Egg” dipped paint job (hydro-dipped), in pink, blue, and purple, done with her mother almost 30 years ago.

I have a set of sandman’s Der Pink Max decals for one of the Mini Maxes (they are Hello Kitty themed). Two more will go for another Double Mini Max (pictured) or maybe a Triple. I like the Mini Max kits with balsa nose cones. They can be sanded to make the nose cone more rounded like the “60AH” cone on the original DRM.

Good idea! I have the parts to make a 3” DBRM (new version), and it’s tempting to lengthen the tube to make it an upscale of the old DBRM. Estes tubes are not long enough, but BMS sells a 34” long 3” tube (1” longer than the required 33”).

I have seen them a couple of times at launches out my way (other side of the state), so I know the firm is real. How well their web site reflects actual stock on hand, and how they are to deal with by mail/internet, I don't know.

Tango Papa will make downscale Der Red Max decals. I recently ordered some for an ST-10, and eRockets sells an ST-10 balsa cone.
