Default She's All Grown Up

My son has been in the real world working as a computer engineer for Lockheed down in Ft. Worth for a few years. Now it's my daughter's turn. She landed a civil engineering job with a large construction company about a month ago. She was told she'd be moving from operation to operation learning the ropes, and would get a company vehicle in about a year. I guess they like her because, I now have a fugly school bus yellow company pickup in my driveway and they've already assigned her to a job on an I-40 bridge.

The down side is that she's all grown up and will be leaving the nest in a few months. The upside is , and I quote, "I'm getting a big girl check now!"

Congrats to her, and her parents. Wow, 2 engineers, that's great!

Several of my HS buddies went to GMI (now Kettering University) out of high school.
One of them answered the application question of which Engineering field are you interested in by replying "anything but RAILROAD" !
He still got in.

Just say, "I identify as a big girl."

Voila! You are getting a big girl check.

I wish my Daughters would of had been more technical and down to earth. we have spent a fortune their medical educations, and my youngest still has two years to go.
MY entire family was in the metallurgy field. I was the Black sheep as I did not go to school,
My punishment is that I cannot drive by a storefront in most of South Florida that I did not design, fabricate or install.
Congratulations, and Thank You for raising good productive young Americans.
