And ghetto, too.

Anybody else remember when blue jeans came in slim, regular and husky?

By the way ... Nice report Bill!

I still am amazed how much you fly at a launch, and have time for pictures, then put together such a detailed summary.

The issue with jeans these days is the number of different styles/cuts/fits you have to wade through to find what you're looking for. I'm an avowed straight leg fan, but I've occasionally come home to find that while I like the color of the pants I've bought, and they're the right size, they're obviously made for someone far younger than 59 years old. If I think I can stand another shopping trip, I take them back, but occasionally I'll just bite the bullet and wear them. The nice thing is how easily they slip into the muck boots when I have to wear them. Other than that, did I mention that I like the color?
A lot of what I recall about the flight/launch in general is what I can hear from the LCO chatter and the wisecracks from those around the flightline. I am given a fair amount of crap when I have a rocket on the pad, unbidden, of course. That helps quite a bit when I'm trying to do a launch report.

Yep, that fits Bill's departmental description.

I remember Sears Toughskins in blue, green, red, and black which came in slim, regular, and husky. The knees weren't as tough as the name implied, but never fear, they sold iron-on patches. The patches didn't last long. They'd peel or just wear through again.

I never new there were jean "categories" like "Slim", my mother bought me "Husky" size until I graduated to "Regular" fit around 8-9. She also had no concept of "Inseam", if it existed. I had to roll up my jeans for those "Husky" years.

The worst feeling about my need to wear Husky size was a friend's older brother who told me I better not wade thru a creek -- those rolled up jeans could fill with water and I might drown. I seemed to recall asking my mother if blue jeans came with shorter legs, or if she could cut them off and fix them.

Sheesh.

Mom's fondest wish was for me to grow up and become a trendy, label wearing, Corvette driving, poofy haired, fancy boy. Like you, for instance. I had a friend who left home for college as a jeans and t-shirt guy, then came back mid semester as Joe Prep, with duck shoes, pink pants and kelly green Izod. He thought he was stylin'. We thought he looked like a clown, albeit one with dry feet.

I'll take living in high-style with my USA made/corporate ownership Corvette over any jeans/t shirt nonsense.

That said, great launch report.
Do any fly old decerted motors at your launches under that NAR program or is that now gone.
