Looks like the launch phase went well. Spacecraft has separated from the Centaur second stage.

I miss the onboard video coverage SpaceX provides.

Yes, SpaceX has spoiled us with all the onboard camera views they provide. The Boeing flight tonight had one booster view during liftoff and the first stage burn. But, that was the only one I saw. I did not watch the entire climb into orbit (it was suppertime), but that one onboard booster camera is the only one I saw. Earl

Yes, they did show that. I meant to mention that part as one of the 'highlights' of that one camera view they had down the first stage booster. But after the first stage dropped away I don't think there were any other on-board cameras, however I did not watch the entire climb to orbit on the Centaur second stage. So, there might have been additional views then. Not sure. The thruster glitch that cropped up appears not to be halting plans to dock with the ISS later today. From Space.com: "In a press conference late Thursday, Boeing and NASA officials said the Starliner OFT-2 spacecraft is doing well in space on its uncrewed flight. During an orbital insertion burn to enter orbit about 31 minutes after liftoff, two of the capsule's 12 big thrusters failed but the remaining 10 were able to compensate for the loss. Boeing engineers are investigating the glitch, but it is not expected to pose an issue for today's planned docking." ----------------------------- Hopefully they CAN dock and it will not be a further issue. But, more stuff for Boeing to hash out after the mission, if not before it is completed. Earl

...and Starliner has docked at the ISS just a minute or two ago. They brought it in nice and slow. Closing rates on these dockings these days looks like they are moving at about an inch per second. Almost.

I saw the footage of Starliner sep. I have no idea why there was a delay in releasing it. As for the aft-facing camera on Centaur, I'm not sure if one was flown or not. If not, I'm sad. I love seeing the dual engines! Hatch opening underway! |

Now inside the Starliner. No shortage of video coverage now!
