Thanks for the compliment. Weather permitting, I plan to fly it next week. And with streamer recovery!

I sure hope that is not where you are launching it.

Lee,

That's for the compliment.

I won't be flying the Patriot in my neighborhood.
Too many rocket eating trees.

Default Estes 24mm E-57 engine

I keep reading about an Estes 29mm E50 or so size engine. There is no such thing. The eninge in question is a 24mm E-57 engine that uses the same case as the E12 engines. Don't ask me when this engine will be available, since I haven't a clue, but it's going to be a while. Since I plan on fireing a minimum diameter rocket tomorrow using one of these engines I though I take a picture of the nozzle, so you can see how it compares to the Estes E12 engine.

Default ESTES E57 Engine

WOW I sure hope this thing makes it to market, I for one love Mid Power Black Powder.
Back in the 1980's I used to launch 3-4 Flight Systems powered models at every launch,
the new E57 motor should be great, it would be my guess : the trust curve is around .7 of a second and the thrust will spike at around 30 to 35 pounds. I just hope that it is a lot more reliable than the Flight Systems E60. This engine will be the new balsa shredder for sure.

That E57 sounds great.
It will fill a void that has existed in SU BP engines since the demise of the FSI F100 and far less available Rocketflite F50/G110/H220.
I for one will buy a lot more of those than the E9/E12.
The only thing I don't understand is why it takes SOOOOOOOOO long to bring out new motors.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, TURMOIL, FIASCOS, and HAVOC !
