Default BT55-based HoJo cone.

Is anyone molding or 3D printing the BT55 based HoJo PNC? I’ve given up all hope of Sirius Rocketry/Moldin Oldies molding them again.

Thanks!

If you have a 3D printer, maybe scaling down this 2.6" dia. model would work.

You could try https://galacticmanufacturing.com. I do not know if they are open to doing custom work right now, but Mike could be approached about reproducing this nose cone. I don't believe that there is much of a demand for this nose cone, but perceptions vary. Creating new 3D printing files might be an added expense, but in the end you would get high quality resin parts off of an SLA printer. IMHO SLA is far superior to the crusty parts you get off of a FDM printer.

I'd adapt my project by kit bashing an Estes Honest John or an Expedition. Less expensive option...

The Estes Expedition (7249) has a BT-55 HJ nose cone. Its the M50 version. I don't think it would be to hard to convert it to the M31 version. If that is what your wanting.

The Expedition is a BT-60 based kit. That's not a BT-55 HJ nose cone.

I’ll need to check my only Expedition kit, but IIRC the BT-60 of the Expedition tapers down to BT-55 and does have a PNC-55.

That’s an excellent idea! I think I’ll rob my Expedition kit for the HoJo cone (if it is indeed the right size).

I remember several moths ago Estes had the Expedition kit on sale. I wish I’d bought more than one then.

It is indeed a PNC-55 nose cone. It has a nice piece of bt-55 to go with the nose cone. I bought an extra kit when Estes had them on sale just to clone the Honest John 1919.

Now I just have to source the decals and I'll be ready.

That's exactly what I'm doing--cloning the 1919. I just bought and received a premium set of 1919 decals from Tango Papa (now at CMR Products.) $8.00. Product #251-0084

I saw those on Ebay. Are they for the 1919? I didn't order them because I wasn't sure.

I wasn’t sure either so I took a chance. They are indeed for the 1919–and they’re very well made.
