Looking good Leo. I also used epoxy here, the 5 minute variety, then after that dried, laid a fillet of epoxy on each joint, one at a time until they dried. Be sure to beef up the NC loop, the resin loop has little strength. I cut off the loop & epoxied in a small eyebolt.

I did the same thing with my clone Paul, but I mixed some micro balloons in to make the fillets easier to sand.

I've got to get some of those micro-balloons, how exactly do you inflate them?

With micro-air, of course.

Well, I continued with attacking the pods to the wings.

I made some pictures of the build and then disaster struck

Here details ... (scroll down)

Ouch.

Do you take those closeup shots in Macro mode?

Looks great, I am sure the fix will come out just fine. I am still messing with my Estes Space Shuttle.

Leo,

To quote Scott: Ouch.

Better to find a weak spot in the airframe now than after it's all finished and pretty. You might have had epoxy that didn't cure correctly. Chances are, that would have happened on the first or second flight if it had not happened in the shop. At least you didn't break the wood, just the epoxy joint.

Thanks everyone

Both pods broke off cleanly however I am sure this wouldn't of happened in grassy fields. The rocket is a sturdy build and indeed no damage to the body tube or balsa (which is very strong) occured.

Nonetheless, good thing it happened now and not after all was painted

I almost threw it against the fence but I kept my cool

@Scott: Pictures are taken without using macro mode.

Leo,

Looks like the epoxy held fine on the wing tips but came off the pods easily.

Perhaps if you drilled some very small holes along the pod where the wingtip touches it, it would give the epoxy a bit more gripping surface.
