Default Estes Wasp #1930

This kit was one of three ESTES kits to use the PNC-55D nose cone.

The first was the Sea dart (1983-1984) We still need to get plans for this bird.

Next it was put atop this rocket, which was produced from 1984-1985.

Lastly, after lying dormant for 4 years, this mold was then used to make the cones for the infamous Strike Fighter (1989-1993).

Do the molds wear out, or do they get broken? I wish the ESTES of today manufactured a more diverse array of nose cones.

A special thanks to an ebayer who won this kit and was very kind to provide me with scans!!!!

I recently found a nice little stash of these (8 or so) at a local hobby shop. If anyone's interested, let me know and I can pick a couple up.

Later,
EV

Thanks for the scans Ryan and I have an open Sea Dart. Just haven't had the time to scan it yet.

I still have a dozen or so plans to process for Scott. Then we can wail on him to get them on YORP. Til then you can wail on me.

I probably won't be able to get over there until next week, but IIRC, they were around $3.50 or so. More details to follow...

Thanks EV!

A hobby shop around Janesville with old rocket stuff?!? I can't believe I missed one! Put me down for two as well if you would. Thanks, EV.

And thanks to the unidentified provider (whistling in feigned innocence) of my very own PNC-55D. (Psst, I think I'd use it for this design *way* before cloning a Strike Fighter. )

Thanks for posting the plans, Ryan! I snagged 'em as soon as I got home (after drooling over them on the computer at work, which is currently being dried with the aid of forced-air fans...).

Cheers,

--Jay
