i just did some quick measurements and found out that the tube specs are as follows:
20 inch bt80
8 inch bt60
3x 5inch bt20
the main nose cone appears to be the one used in the semroc hydra vii.

i can feel a parts order to semroc coming on.....

this thing is just begging to be clustered!!!!

I'm thinking that the main body is BT-70 as there was no BT-80 listed in the body tube section of that catalog. I don't think BT-80 was yet then available.

Just a historical note, the Thor evolved (very little) into the Delta. FWIW

well, on the same page is an add for a nose cone fitting the 101 tube, so the 80 probably was around. most of the maxi brutes had that type of tube.
anyway, the size of the tube in comparison to the hand of the person holding it is moore like a bt-80 than a bt-70

Well, assuming (yeah, I know.... ) that the picture is representative of what can be built using the Designer's Special, then the largest tube has to be a BT-60 since that is the largest tube shown on the parts list for the Designer's Special......

The BT-80 was in the Saturn V kit for several years before it became available to purchase separately. However, it does look like a BT-80 when compared to the size of the kids.

The guy on the right looks like a very young Wayne Gretzky with a RIDICULOUS hair-don't !

Actually, a cross between Wayne Gretzky and Sean Penn (if Sean was a chick).

yeah, you know how those catalog pictures are, they always make what you see look great, and all you get is about 40% of whats shown. i think ill clone this thing with iether a central d motor or 3 b6's in the three strap on boosters. i'll have to duct the ejection though.....
