Default I am the SANDMAN!

I make nose cones.

Some of you know me some of you don't.

This is to introduce myself.

I can work with balsa, basswood, oak, poplar, foam/fiberglass.

No job too small or to big...OK some are just plain too big to fit any of my lathe.

My biggest has been a 40" Goblin cone (BNC-55AO upscale), a scale HARM missle (11.5") and a 16" Little Joe II my smallest are micromaxx.

Email me for a custom quote.

gagnello@yahoo.com

I need "EXACT" dimensions of your tube if it is "non-standard"

I do one or two of a kind custom...hand made...no production work (please don't ask me to make 25 of anything )

Below are some samples

Starting at the top left; BT-60 Bomarc ram jet cones, Lockheed gliding concept capsule, X-20 DynaSoar,

BT-80 Goblin upscale, Estes Drop Nose (Nimbus)

BT-70 Crayon, Vostok Capsule

Little Joe II (built with 8 seperate turnings!)

and on the bottom is the Soyuz capsule shroud interstage coupler, and escape tower

Oh...a wise guy

I make everything by hand with hand tools and a caliper.

I don't have a duplicator or CNC machine. If I am forced to make 24 they won't be "exactly" the same.

Very nice looking stuff :-)

I'd be interested in the BT80 sized 'droop nose' cone myself ( upscale Nova Starship ) .

Rough idea on pricing for that one ?

It's be just as easy to build some of the 'gotta haves' on my list in mid-power upscales....

* goes off wondering.. hmm.. more projects,Scotty ........ *

A BT-80 Drop Nose would be "ENORMOUS".

I have made a BT-70 version and my finished model was HUGE!

Here is My Starship Nova I launched at NARAM. It's about 45" long and really hard to deal with (almost put my eye out with it.)

This was a launch shot I turned 90 degrees. Notice only 2 of the Estes E9's lit.

The chute opened about 5' from the ground.

Phred has the BT-70 sized decals in stock.

Very nice looking model .

Hope the chute at 5' up saved it ? would be sad to see that one crash or damaged.

I saw a 4" upscale of this one once, a while back ( LDRS 8-9 ? ) , very nice :-)

BT80 version would fit right in with my ( "almost done' ,lol ) BT 80 sixed Solar Sailer 2,and Mini tri Pak set.

And for some of you that don't know Sandman, here is some more of his custom work

The smaller ones are basswood versions of the Centuri PNC-132 made to fit the heavy walled Semroc Large series 125 tubing (1.25" x 1.34"), not the thinner walled series 13 tubing (1.30" x 1.34"). I purchased these to build a few EnerJet Nike-Ram rockets and SEL helped me with suggestions for those.

The larger one (come on, you already know its for an EnerJet sounding rocket) fits the Semroc Large series 225 tubing and Sandman turned it from some very hard balsa stock.

Both types are exactly what I asked for and a perfect fit for the Semroc tubes I specified and came with the eyehooks.

These are in my "post-hurricane" build queue for the fall rocket building frenzy .....

Gordon "Sandman" Agnello's .sig reads:

"I'm a sandman. I've never killed anyone. I terminate runners when their time is up."
Logan from "Logan's Run"

'Cause I understand
You've been running from the man
That goes by the name of the Sandman
He flies the sky
Like an eagle in the eye
Of a hurricane that's abandoned

Exit light, enter night
Take my hand...
We're off to Never-Never Land!

Actually my wife coined the name "Sandman" for me.

Because I always come into the house from my shop covered with sawdust.

Not only do i make nose cones, my other hobby is wooden boat building.

I also got the DVD of "Logan's Run" for Christmas last year and I loved it!

Logan was a "sandman". I especially the scenes with a 17 year old Farrah Fawcett!

Here's some pics of some of the boats I've built.

That makes perfect sense to me.

I recorded it off of Turner Classic Movies (TCM) a few years ago. Oddly enough, part of the scenes with Box were conspicuous by their absence.

Although Jenny Agutter as Jessica was especially saliva-inducing back in 1976, as well.

Cheers,
