Not a single U.S. Rockets kit

Centuri Little Joe II?

Bids?

This guy is retiring. At the bottom of the market.

The pro series rockets are not sealed, but basically in new condition. The Terrier Sandhawk has just the bare box (the artwork was held on only by the shrinkwrap).

The Sandhawk and one of the Scouts is unopened, but in a worn bag. The other Scout, AFAIK, is unopened, but it's hangtag has been torn off and reattached with packing tape, and a new hole was poked in the main bag for it to hang on. I bought it in a toystore near Toronto, where it had apparently been for five years (price/inventory tag says 1986... I bought it after NARAM in 1991). I really don't know why I never built it.

All tubes look good.

I capped my bid at $325.01 on the most recent ebay Centuri 1/45 Little Joe II and I thought I was bidding WAY too high. Figured I would not win, but then again I do not consider kits I FULLY INTEND to BUILD as having anywhere NEAR the value many collectors do. Some rockets just seem to command RIDICULOUS prices.

Okay, bids sent by e-mail.

Roy, you will tell the bidders when they've been outbid on something, right? Otherwise, this could be pretty difficult and random.

That's what makes it a passive-aggressive auction!

Give that man a kewpie doll and a seeee-gar!!

If you guys are expecting a regular auction, then don't waste your time.

For instance, if you "start" bidding on the LJ II at $25, well, that's just a waste of electrons and my time. We're NOT going to 'climb the ladder,' and there will be no ebay-style sniping.

Tell me, honestly, what you think you want to pay for the item. Remember the key point -- even if you bid $1000 on an Alpha, I might not sell it to you! (ok, yea, I probably would. I'm not stupid.)

If you want to give me a sob story as to why I should accept your bid and not a higher one, tell me.

I probably won't give out high bids, cause there are just too many items, and in some cases, people are bidding on a block they defined, in which case, there's no way to compare bids.

But if there's something that everyone is bidding on, and I have a number of good bids, I might put up the high bid for that, but don't hold your breath.

Also, I MEAN it about NO QUESTIONS via the email address. If you have questions, put them up here.

Now I understand! I was not expecting this to be a sealed-bid auction, so my bids were fairly low. I will re-think them and submit revised bids soon.

Default Ljii

Hey Roy,

Is this the same LJII I traded to you so many years ago? I always regretted doing that but was glad it went to a good home. Later, I got another and wound up selling that one too. So, my sob story would be, please, oh PLEASE sell it back to me (if I had any money).

Yep. The same one. It got close to getting built last year (after seeing a couple of them being flown at the Old Rocketeers Reunion a couple of years ago), and close to being put on eBay this year. But it is sorta the last thing I'd sell now. I'd probably build it before I'd sell it.

Ok, first update:

There are no bids that are interesting. That means, there's nothing I would accept at the moment.

But at least there are three or four "realistic" bids, meaning at least they are in the ball park of the value of currently available, similarly configured kits.

HINT: I might look at "realistic" bids for some of the less popular kits, since these do take up room.
